Here is a truly beautiful song, and very easy to play. :D

Here is a live version on YouTube. If you can find the original, it has a beautiful fingerpicking arrangement. But this song sounds great strummed as well.

And here are the lyrics with chord changes above.

For My Lady - Moody Blues

Intro- G Dm C G x 2

G Dm
My boat sails stormy seas
C G
Battles oceans filled with tears
Dm
At last my port's in view
C G
Now that I've discovered you

C Em
Oh I'd give my life so lightly
Am Em
For my gentle lady
Dm G
Give it freely and completely
C
To my lady

Repeat Intro

G Dm
As life goes drifting by
C G
Like a breeze she'll gently sigh
Dm
And slowly bow her head
C G
Then you'll hear her softly cry.

C Em
Oh I'd give my life so lightly
Am Em
For my gentle lady
Dm G
Give it freely and completely
C
To my lady

F Fm C
Words that we say when we're alone
F Fm C
Though actions speak louder than words
F Fm C Am
But all I can say is I love you so
Dm G
To drive away all my hurt

C Em
Oh I'd give my life so lightly
Am Em
For my gentle lady
Dm G
Give it freely and completely
C
To my lady

Repeat Intro

G Dm
Set sail before the sun
C G
Feel the warmth that's just begun
Dm
Share each and every dream
C G
They belong to everyone.

C Em
Oh I'd give my life so lightly
Am Em
For my gentle lady
Dm G
Give it freely and completely
C
To my lady

That's it, hope all you Moody Blues fans enjoy.

I was unfamiliar with this tune. Thanks so much for introducing me to it. Great addition to the database.

Thanks. I was trying to find the original recording, but couldn't. You can't really even hear the guitar with that orchestra. :D It is a very beautiful fingerpicked song. This fellow on YouTube did a very good job, very close to the original.
