or you could try adding a couple of chords like this....

D]Goodbye Joe, me gotta go, me oh [A]my oh
Me gotta (A7)go pole the pirogue down the [D]bayou
My Yvonne, the sweetest one, me oh [A]my oh
Son of a gun, we'll have good (G)fun (A)on the [D]bayou....

Just fleshes out and fills out the song a bit.....

Now if anyone's got a tab for "Hey, Good Looking" I'd be grateful....need to learn that for when I get back home....

:D :D :D

Vic

Edit....I just added an A chord on the last line.....10.47am, Monday...Texas Time

Oh Yeah - Funny thing....first time I ever heard this song, was a huge hit in the UK about '73 or '74 for the car***ters.........almost put me off country music for life.....

Then when I joined Guitarnoise and got chatting to certain people on MSN... take a bow Twisted Fingers, he sent me some really good country songs....I found I actually liked a lot of country music....

So get your butt back on these pages, Twisty, we need ya!!!!

Hey, Good Lookin' 8)

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

Vic,

Its come to this!
Me fingers ache through trying the barres on Rodders Octopus's Garden. Soooo I'm here for a little light relief.

Just tried the filled out version you put on here in as near an arrangement that I can remember to Gerry Marsden's cover from the Pacemaker's first album. "How Do You Like It". I think its worked, sounded good to me anyway. I'll have to try dueting with the CD next time.

I remember seeing Gerry in an interview say and demonstrate that the way he, The Beatles and other Northern groups played it set it apart from the way Cliff and the Shad's would do it in London (All posh and icky dacky! I think he said. Is that a Merseyside saying?) and thats what set the Liverpool beat scene apart from the run of the mill.

(Oh well more useless info from Dogsbody! Shutup dogsbody!!!)

see ya mate,

Chris

Another of those weird co-incidences....went into Albertson's for various items today, saw a copy of Guitar World Acoustic with the Eagles on the cover...including a tab for Desperado...so I bought it of course....

Got back to hotel, settled down for a read....guess what else is in there?

"Learn How To Play Outlaw Classics"....features 3 songs, Willie Nelson..."Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain," Johnny Cash...."I Walk The Line" and..........Hank Williams, "Hey Good Looking...."

Cue the theme music from the Twilight Zone.....
