Title: Can't Stop Loving You
Written by: Don Gibson
Recorded by Ray Charles,1962
G G7 C C/B Am7
I can't stop loving you --
Am7/G G Am7 G
I've made up my mind
Cdim(I) D9 D7 Am7 D7 G
To live in memories of the lonesome times.
G7 C C/B Am7
I can't stop wanting you;
Am7/G G Am7 G
It's useless to say
D9 D7 Cdim D7 G
So I'll just live my life in dreams of yesterday.
Bridge:
D9 D7 G G7 C C/B Am7
Those happy hours that we once knew
Gdim G Am, G D9 D7
So long ago still make me blue
D9 D7 G Am7 G G7 C C/B Am7
They say that time heals a broken heart
Am7/G G D9 D7 G G+7 G7
But time has stood still since we've been apart.
G G7 C C/B Am7
I can't stop loving you --
Am7/G G Am7 G
I've made up my mind
Cdim(I) D9 D7 Am7 D7 G
To live in memories of the lonesome times.
G7 C C/B Am7
I can't stop wanting you;
Am7/G G Am7 G
It's useless to say
D9 D7 Cdim D7 G
So I'll just live my life in dreams of yesterday.

My dad would CRANK this tune! Usually with a cold beverage in his hand. LOVE Ray Charles. Thanks.

I don't understand the name of your post... it's like there are words, but I've never seen them put together like that: "...there are other artists besides The Beatles." :? I don't understand?
Some pretty wild chords in this one Tele: Cdim(I)? Do you think you could post how to play them?
Thanks,
Dan
I still don't get it though... besides The Beatles....

Nice one Ron: You couldn't have chosen a better song to prove your point   but you need to give me a clue on the Cdim mate.
Cheers for now,
Rod.
Be excellent to each other & party on dudes!

I've never found a fingering for 'straight' diminished chords that I find comfortable, but x3454x (Cdim, root is on 5th and third strings) is the closest. If the rest of the chords were higher up I'd try 8 9 10 8 x x
See if you can do any better here
This song is pasted directly from The Guitar Guy's website.
His site inludes all pertinent chord shape information, and other valuable info.
There are hundreds of old classic song transcriptions there, all free.
I personally think he should be given credit when his transcriptions are used anywhere else....especially here....

I have over 1000 tabs stored on my harddrive and no clue as to what came from which site, or what I may have tabbed over the years, so I'll take your word for where this one came from, and gratefully acknowledge the source

No harm, no foul, teleplayer324.....That's why I put in that  ....there are many, many "chord and tab" sites who paste directly from The Guitar Guy, and give him no credit....if yours came from one of those, you'd have no way of knowing.
I am so familiar with Guitar Guy's stuff, [ I have even contributed a bit of material to his site]....I can always spot when it's one of his that has been pasted...it's his chord voicings....he uses so many subtle chord selections, sometimes way too many to actually play in real life... :D ...and he knows it.
Check out his site if you get a chance. It's very impressive.....an enormous quantity of work went into it, and still does, regularly.
