One of the wife's favourite songs - I'll have to learn this! Just had a quick run-through, seems pretty straightforward...... except....how are you playing the F/G chord? Only way I can figure it out is to play 333211, with my thumb fretting the G bass note on the bottom string. Doesn't sound too bad substituting a G chord instead though....

:D :D :D

You're right Vic..... substituting the G for the F/G is fine....G7 preferred, as a "go-home", because the F note gets retained.
Glad you like the song...it is a real classic piece.
I'm a bit unorthodox as far as some of my "self taught fingerings" that go back 44-odd years.
For my F in this song, I use my thumb over the sixth string, and finger as 1 3 3 2 1 1 (T P R M I I )...I pick the sixth string then strum the other five.
For the F/G, I use my pinky on the fifth and sixth strings in the third fret, and finger as 3 3 3 2 1 1 ( P P R M I I )
Everyone's pinky isn't necessarily large enough to do this....so another way is leaving out the fifth string... 3 x 3 2 1 1
( P x R M I I ), where I would pick the sixth string then strum the other four.
Cheers.
