Please note: This is not in the exact key Warren Zevon played it in- my musical ear is terrible. Whatever Warren did starts in Bb.

This track is a corker from Warren's 2003 album "The Wind". In my opinion, you can never have too much Warren Zevon. CAPO III

Intro: G C Em G D G

G C
I'm numb as a statue
G D G
I may have to beg, borrow or steal
G C
Some feelings from you
G D G
So I can have some feelings too

G C
I'm pale as a ghost
G D G
You know what I love about you
G C
That's what I need the most
G D G
I'm gonna beg, borrow or steal
G C
Some feelings from you
G D G
So I can have some feelings too

G C
I don't care if it's superficial
G D G
You don't have to dig down deep
G C
Just bring enough for the ritual
G D G
Get here before I fall asleep

G C
Ain't nothing special
G D G
When the present meets the past
G C
I've always taken care of business
G D G
I've paid my first and last

G C
I don't care if it's superficial
G D G
You don't have to dig down deep
G C
Just bring enough for the ritual
G D G
Get here before I fall asleep

G D G
I'm gonna beg, borrow or steal
G C
Some feelings from you
G D G
I'm gonna beg, borrow or steal
G D G
So I can have some feelings too.

G D G
I'm gonna beg, borrow or steal
G C
Some feelings from you
G D G
I'm gonna beg, borrow or steal
G D G
So I can have some feelings too.

Take care,

Casey

I must admit, I don't know the song at all - nor the album. I'll have to do some digging, 'cause I agree with you, Shady, there's no such thing as too much Warren Zevon! I'm going to have to do some serious digging, actually, as I know but a handful of his songs - only really knew "Werewolves" till recently. I've just about got "Lawyers, Guns and Money" down - easy chords, but a tricky strumming pattern to master especially if you're singing! I'll try and tab it out in the next few days if I get a chance.

Anyway, thanks for your contribution!

:D :D :D

The Wind was an amazing album. Warren recorded it after he was diagnosed with cancer and knew he was dying. It's hard to listen to the album without being moved to tears. It's one of his best works. If you can't find it, PM me.

I knew "Lawyers, Guns and Money" before "Werewolves", and still prefer it to "Werewolves", although I'll give Warren his due...there's some very clever wordplay in that song. Agreed with Steve, as well- track down "The Wind" if you can. :D

Take care,

Casey
