I've got problems playing the "I let go of the rope...." part. The tab I got is so strange. It shows weird chords (?) on the 7th and 8th fret that I just cannot play. I don't habe problems with barre chords in general but this tab looks strange. Does anyone know an easier way to play it?

Thanks for your help

Could you show us those chords, or where the tab can be found?

What name does the tab call the songs?

We will try to help.

I have to leave shortly, but I see the section that is giving you trouble.
I will show the fingering tomorrow morning unless someone beats me to it.

Those are not barre chords.

-|----7----5--5-------5----5---5-----5-----0--8------8---8---8-8--------------
-|----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry I took so long to get to this. That first chord should be fingered like this

e---8r------------
b---8r------------
g---7i------------
d---0------------
a---8m------------
e---8m------------

The 1st and 2nd strings should be played with your ring finger in a "mini barre".
Play the 3rd string with your index finger
Play the 5th and 6th string with your middle finger. This may also have been played with a mini barre, but it is more likely he just picked up his middle finger from the 5th string and placed it on the 6th string. These two notes are never played at the same time.

The next chord was this

e--7m---------------
b--8r----------------
g--0-----------------
d--X-----------------
a--7i-----------------
e---------------------

Play the 5th string with your index finger. Let this finger slightly touch the 4th string muting it. This is not shown it the tab, but it is implied.
Play the 2nd string with your ring finger
Play the 1st string with your middle finger.

The third chord shown is this

e--------------
b--6m------------
g--7r------------
d--X------------
a--5i----------
e--------------

Play the 5th string with your index finger. Again, mute the 4th string.
Play the 3rd string with your ring finger
Play the 2nd string with your middle finger

The last chord shown is this

e-------------------
b---8r----------------
g---0----------------
d---7i----------------
a---8m----------------
e-------------------

Play the 5th string with your middle finger
Play the 4th string with your index finger
Play the 2nd string with your ring finger

Again. sorry about getting back to you so late. Hope this helps. Once you get used to these chords, they will be very easy to hold.

Been working on this very pretty, somewhat sad tune. I've come up with a tab that seems to work pretty well. I'm not positive of the C & G "alternate" chords in the chorus and bridge, but they are fairly easy to play (compared to some other tabs out there, including the one set forth above) and sound just fine.

Intro

D D/F# riff G/B G/F D D/F# riff G/B G/F A

--2--------2----------3------3--3---|-2--------2----------3------3--3-------|
--3-3---2--3----------3----3-3--3---|-3-3---2--3----------3----3-3--3---2---|

Verse
