Classic Rock   Run Through The Jungle   CCR

OK, on this song I'm just gonna give you the basic Riff.
It's played throughout the song with variation. This is
the Devil's music, so you better have your Mojo.

This song is in Drop D, so tune your low E string down
one whole step.

e--------------------------------------1------------------------
b-----1----3----------------------1—3-1--3--------------------
g--------2---1p0------------------2--2----2—-0h1p0-----------
d-----------------3^-0------0------------------------3^-0----
a-----------------------0h3-------------------------------------
d-0----------------------------0-----------------------------(0)-

This is the main riff. Hold the 2nd and 3rd notes like a
chord and let them ring. I believe this is part of a
D minor 7 chord. The 0 at the end in parenthesis means
this note is where you start over again. Give a little
tug to the F note on the D string. That little bend
sounds bad!!

That's really about it. This song is played with this
same riff throughout. You can play your own variations
like this;

e-----------------------------------1--------------------
b------1--1--3-------------------1--1--3-----------------
g------2--2—-2-—0h1p0----------2-----2—0h1p0-----------
d------------------------3^-0---------------------3^-0-----
a--------------------------------------------------------
d—0----------------------------0-------------------------0-

So have fun with this one and play your own variations.

If you play a solo, use the D Minor Pentatonic Scale.

Whoa, thought it was a nightmare,
Lo, it's all so true,
They told me, "Don't go walking slow
'Cause Devil's on the loose."

CHORUS:
Better run through the jungle,
Better run through the jungle,
Better run through the jungle,
Woa, Don't look back to see.

Thought I heard a rumbling
Calling to my name,
Two hundred million guns are loaded
Satan cries, "Take aim!"

CHORUS

Over on the mountain
Thunder magic spoke,
"Let the people know my wisdom,
Fill the land with smoke."

CHORUS

Nice one Wes!!

Tried to work this out before and failed - the drop D tuning could have been a factor in that!!

Damn you Fogerty!!!

Yay! Wes strikes again. :D

Grim

Do you mean after I paste it, I can hit the Font Button and change the size?

That would probably work great.

In fact, I'm gonna try it now

Wow, that's awesome.

I'll try your template soon.

Thanks

Wes like this buddy, i am copy paste your tab and then using that font it will look like this. this is just one shot

e--------------------------------------1------------------------
b-----1----3----------------------1—3-1--3--------------------
g--------2---1p0------------------2--2----2—-0h1p0-----------
d-----------------3^-0------0------------------------3^-0----
a-----------------------0h3-------------------------------------
d-0----------------------------0-----------------------------(0)-

ok, just to keep from posting too many, i edit and came in here again and posted that above again this time i just straighted your lines out a little bit, so if you do the same thing it should copy your tabs like this...

e--------------------------------------1-------------------------
b-----1----3----------------------1—3-1--3-----------------------
g--------2---1p0------------------2--2----2—-0h1p0---------------
d-----------------3^-0------0------------------------3^-0--------
a-----------------------0h3--------------------------------------
d-0----------------------------0-----------------------------(0)-

Wow, that looks great.

What font did you use?

Also, another question. Joe Forrok Star told me this, but I couldn't figure it out. Let's say I copy an address from Musicians Friend to show someone on here gear. I always have to paste that long address. How do you guys add that link and give it your own name?

Obviously, I'm no genius on computer.

Thanks Grim

Wes, what you do is put[ ] around url= https://www.guitarnoise.com  type in the name you want to give the link, then put /url in another set of [ ]

so it would look like this. Learn To Play Guitar

Touch-The Rock Band

to add the colors just highlight the words and choose the color from the drop down list  on the upper right corner of the posting screen.

Hi wes

sorry I read your post but since I'm not so keen about tablature, It would be so great if you could enclose also the chords of the song.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

I have re-written this tab, should be a little easier to read now. The entire song is played over a single D Minor chord (also implies Dm7). So this is as easy as it gets, a one chord song.

Make sure to tune your bass E string down to D (one whole step).

Here is the opening riff:

Dm throughout song

Opening riff

e------------------------------------------------
b-------1-----------3----------------------------
g----------2--------------1p-0-------------------
d-------------------------------3^-0-----------0-
a----------------------------------------0h-3----
d-0----------------------------------------------
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

e----------------1-------------------------------
b-------1-----3--1----3--------------------------
g-------2-----2-------2------------0h-1p-0-------
d-------------------------------------------3^p0-
a------------------------------------------------
d-0----------------------------------------------
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

And here is the riff as played through the song with variation. John never plays it the same twice. So feel free to add self expression.

Riff throughout song with variation

e------------------------------------------------
b-------1-------1-----3--------------------------
g-------2-------2-----2-----------0h-1p-0--------
d-------------------------------------------3^p0-
a------------------------------------------------
d-0----------------------------------------------
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

h= hammer-on
p= pull-off
^= very slight bent note
