I like this song although I'm not a fan of Robbie Williams.

It's just that this is such a great song and goes well when played acoustic. The lyrics are clever and very much modern day, classic Robbie. I love the last line of the first verse. It literally does "take you to the bridge". And, later the "Oprah Winfrey, Rickie Lake" Too much daytime TV there me thinks!!

Chords are not too hard either. I love "Em7" what a great sound that gives. You can really belt out the intro too. So without further ado here it is.

(D) (G) (Em) (A)

(D)Ah (E7)ah (G)ah (A)ah

Verse 1:

(D)My breath smells of a thousand fags

And (G)when I'm drunk I dance like me Dad

I've (Em7)started to dress a bit like (A)him

And (D)early morning when I wake up

I (G)look like Kiss but without the make-up

And (Em7)that's a good line to take it to the (A)bridge

(G)And you know, and you know 'cause (Em7)my life's a mess

(G)And I'm trying to grow, so (Em7)before I'm old (A)I'll confess

(D)You think that I'm (G)strong, you're (Em7) wrong, (A)you're wrong

(D)I'll sing my (G)song, my (Em7)song, my (A)song

Verse 2:

(D)My bed's full of takeaways,

And (G)fantasies of easy lays

(Em7)The pause button's broke on my (A)video.

And (D)is this real? 'Cause I feel fake,

(G)Oprah Winfrey, Ricki Lake

(Em7)Teach me things I don't need to (A)know

Middle 8:

If I (Am)did it all again I'd be a nun

(G)The rain was never cold when I was young

I'm still (Em)young, we're (Bm7)still young

(Am)Life's too short to be afraid

(G)Step (Em7)inside the (D)sun

(D)You think that I'm (G)strong, you're (Em7) wrong, (A)you're wrong

(D)I'll sing my (G)song, my (Em7)song, my (A)song

Outro: (repeat x4 to fade)

(D)Life's too short to be afraid, (Em7)take a pill to numb the pain

(G)You don't have to take the (A)blame

Hope some of you all enjoy it anyway.

Cheers for now,

Great song! the chords dont look too difficult for a beginner like me. Could you recommend a simple strum? Thanks

3 U D
4 U D
