This is one of my all-time favourites......George Harrison, Dylan, The Big O, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne all on the same record......how much better can music possibly get?
Enjoy.......
Vic.
And I really am surprised no-one's done this yet.......

Nice one Vic,
I first heard the album this came from in a local pub. A truly great meeting of minds were the Wilburys. I've got another easy to play tab of their's filed somewhere. I'll post it here if I can find it.
Chris.
The guitar is all right John but you'll never make a living out of it! (John Lennon's Aunt Mimi)
I don't think there is one song on that album that isn't acoustic guitar friendly.....hmm, that could keep me busy for a while!!!
:) :) :)

I love that song!
Anyone out there who can please help me with the strum pattern.....
Still miss Big O when I was younger thats all that was played at our house by my Father...

Well I played through it, but have no idea how to translate a strum pattern. Duh! Sorry. Glad you found this though, I missed it while browsing the ESD, and it's one of my favs! Very late thanks to Vic! :D 8)

Wanted to ressurect this thread to see if someone can provide a strumming pattern to this one. Always have liked this one, but have been wanting to learn it more since hearing it covered on the the recent Jenny Lewis album.
Thanks in advance.
I just took real estate in your mind.
- sorry
...only thing I know how to do is to keep on keepin' on...

This is a great song - strangly enough I've just been playin it tonight togehter with some folks. Haven't heard the recording in years(?) but I'm pretty sure the chords should be D D/C G
Oh, and the D/C chord is x30232 - ring on A string, pinky on B string, index on g string, middle on E string
I you pick it like: (Play the first letter with the thumb the letter in brackets is the chord shape) D(D) i mr i C(D) i mr i B(G) i mr i and then play single notes G A B C on 6th/5th string it sound pretty much spot on if my memory serves me well... Sorry for an extremely poor explanation - happy to elaborate if anybody cares...

You could well be right Lars - wouldn't be the first time Harrison slipped that particular trick past me! For years, I thought "While my guitar gently weeps" was Am, G and D at the start - turns out the G is an Am/G!
As you say, picking the bass note then the chord works nicely.....thanks for pointing it out!
:D :D :D

I actually have this on powertab if anyone wants it. And, instead of the B7 in the chorus, try a G+, I think that is the actual chord. But we all have different ways to play songs.
PS- G+ is fingered like so:
e---3----
B---4----
G---4----
D---5----
A---5---------
E---3-----
basically just drop your middle finger to make a little mini barre on the G and B strings.
Thanks Dudes!
Keep on Rockin'
Pat
I'm still hoping someone out there can help with a strumming pattern on this one...
Thanks!
I just took real estate in your mind.
Well....I play the opening riff with the following strum:
D C G
DD DD DUD
Take care,
Casey
Anyone throwing in the filler after every D,C,G
E x x x x
B x x x x
G x x x x
D x x x x
A x 0 2 3
E 3 x x x
Dunno if I have it right or if people are using it already
But just a suggestion :D
