Bull,
I know you have done a lot of work on this song already (you are probably sick of it by now!) and I know all of us newbies appreciate it ALOT!
I was wondering if you plan on doing anymore with it? Maybe a simple solo or some filler notes for the stumming. I have tried on my own with the filler notes but its tough with my limited experience.
Thanks!
Once you get comfortable with the chords and strumming, there's one little embellishment you can add fairly easily that makes the song even more recognizable than it already is (great work on the easy version here!) and it's also a great way to practice your hammer-ons and pull-offs.
An image from the Guitar Pro version of this song shows the quick little riff that's played during the beginning of each verse:
It's a relatively simple riff that adds a lot of the "character" to the song. If you listen to the recorded version, it's very audible as part of the lead guitar part.
I'm not very good at explaining things (hence the picture) but hopefully folks will be able to incorporate this into their playing and have some fun/get some practice out of it. :)

It's mostly a D chord embellishment. Easy enough after all it is Bon Jovi not Jimmy Page 8) 8) 8)

Thanks Pilot...I try it out!
hello
yesterday I listened to the recording of the song and I guess that it could be played with a simple simplified strummin like this
D ddu D ddu
for each measure
what do you think about it?

I don't know how to cut and paste his tab ? grrrrr
I actually cut and pasted it into a text editor like notepad then saved as a .html file and pulled it up in a browser then thing were aligned more. The author put html tags around different areas.
Makes it much more readable.
During one of the forum software upgrades the formatting changed, and some of teh old posts got stuck in the old format.
Let's see if this is more readable.

kent-eh - nice job re-formatting the old tab, thanks mate!
The riff pilot showed is easy enough - it's just D, Dsus4 and Dsus2.
For the main body of the song, instead of using D, C, G and F chords I like to add a little spice to it (and it sounds better on a six-string, if you havent got a 12-string handy by using these chords:
For the D chord, play it as 20 ( - these two strings are optional)0232 with a mini-barre across the 2nd fret with your index finger, and your RING finger on the B string, 3rd fret (I normally play it with the mini-barre as above, but my middle finger on the B string) to make the change to the next chord easy.....
For the C chord, play Cadd9.... 332033 (if you can fret the bottom E string with your thumb - if not, mute it or miss it out.)
For the G chord, play 320033....still a G chord, but the added D note gives an extra droning quality...
And for the F chord, try Fadd9....103213 if you can fret the bottom E with your thumb again, x03213 if you can't.
So basically, you've got one finger - your ring finger - in the same place throughout the verses and choruses which you can use as a pivot. It's well worth your while - IMO - persevering with these chords - makes the song easier to play and yet fuller sounding at the same time. Give 'em a try - you may be pleasantly surprised!
