C G A F

E|-----------------------------------------------||
B|-----------------------------------------------||
G|------4-3-4---------4-3-4---6---4-3-4----------|| X2
D|-5--------------5-------------------------5--6-||
A|-----------------------------------------------||
E|-----------------------------------------------||

C G
My life is brilliant, My love is pure
Am F
I saw an angel, Of that I'm sure
C G
She smiled at me on the subway, She was with another man
Am F
But I won't lose no sleep on that, Cause I've got a plan.

Chorus:

F G C C
You're beautiful, You're beautiful
F G C C
You're beautiful, it's true
F G C Am
I saw you face, in a crowded place..
F G Am Am
And I don't know what to do
F G Intro once
Cause I'll never be with you.

As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Flying high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end.

Chorus:
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw you face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
Cause I'll never be with you.

Chorus:
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.

But it's time to face the truth,
I will never be with you

Cheers,

Max

Can anyone help with the strum pattern, I'm working on picking them out from hearing a song but I'm still pretty bad at it.

This might be even easier. Capo on the 3rd or 4th fret although I have heard of it being as high as the 7th.

e|----------------------------------|----------------------------------|
B|---1-0-1----1-0-1-3--1-0-1----|---1-0-1----1-0-1-3--1-0-1----|
G|-0--------0----------------------|-0--------0----------------------|
D|------------------------------2-3|------------------------------2-3|
A|----------------------------------|----------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------|----------------------------------|

The timing is easy to work out & very easy to play along with the cd.

The strum pattern I have is
D D Dud Dud, but I will stand corrected if anyone has anything else.

I transposed the lead to allow the use of a capo. The capo will allow you to play along with the CD. If you play it without a capo it is all barre chords (one b shaped) which is really not friendly, although the riff would be just as easy.
*
The strumming pattern is D D DU UD DUDU for the verses
*
for the chorus it is D D D DUD. (same as heart of gold verses if you took Davids lesson)

I don't normally write strumming patterns, so hopefully that is easy to follow, change chords on the *.

I missed the other post on the lesson, wish I had found it earlier.

Cheers,

Max

I found an error in the math on the riff, here is the correction.

E|----------------------------------------------------||
B|----------------------------------------------------||
G|------8-7-8---------8-7-8---10---8-7-8--------------|| X2
D|-5--------------5-------------------------5--6------||
A|----------------------------------------------------||
E|----------------------------------------------------||

Cheers,

Max
