Hi guys im looking a buying a pod 2.0, i live in Australia and the pod is from the US, i got a roland micro cube a few years back from the US and had the same issue so i bought a AC/DC adapter that has a adjustable volts switch and came with a few different sized inserts and that did the trick, so would i be able to use it for the Pod 2.0. Thanks
a Roland micro Cube requires 9 VDC @ 500 mA center negative polarity
a POD 2.0 needs 9 VAC @ 1200mA
read that carefully -- the POD wants an AC input, not DC. that is likely to facilitate (1) easy step up of the AC voltage inside the POD (big rail voltages => better dynamic range) and/or (2) creation of both positive and negative internal supply rails (all sorts of electronic goodness in that). the POD is also very power (current) hungry. you will need a beefy supply.
in any case, a generic variable supply is not likely to do it for you, as it would need to provide (switchable) AC and DC output options. never seen that.
