I'd been thinking about getting a Big Muff or Little Big Muff for a while. I read several reviews which said the Little Big Muff sounds the same as its big brother and others which said just spend the extra $10 for the big brother. I went to Sam Ash Friday night and figured I'd see for myself. I asked one of the salesmen and he recommended the Little, which is the cheaper one. Then he told me why. He said the LBM sounded just as good as the BM and the LBM would work on a standard 9V power adapter. The big brother has a special kind of adapter. Sold! I tried it out in the store and was impressed. Brought it home and was even more impressed. You turn a knob a few degrees and there's a drastic change in tone, so there are a lot of tonal possibilities. And it's built like a freakin' tank. You know the Ford truck commercials where they drop the Ford logo and the background breaks? I could see one of these doing that. But then you pick it up and it's surprisingly light.
Since talking about an effects pedal is like dancing about architecture, I recorded a demo for you guys. I describe the set up and which settings I'm using between each sample.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting errors trying either to stream or download your sample.

Sounds really good to me. Nice review. 8) No dog barking in the background either! :P  Are you going to use this pedal on your part for the online jam? :)

gnease: yep, something seems to be up w/ soundclick. I can download it, but i can't stream it. I can't stream any of my songs.
Dan: I'm thinking about it. I should get you my part tonight.
Nice demo! It sounds great. Currently I am not looking for new pedals but I will take account of it for the future.
Thanks! :D
BTW, I can stream it without problems.
Nice review! - thanks :D

I think it is a Firefox issue. I can stream it in IE, but not Firefox.
Great Info, I've kicked that around for awhile.
It is a small world for metal fanatics. I welcome you fellow musicians, especially the metalheads!

Perhaps the Windows version. I use Safari and Firefox on a Mac and I can stream it in both.

I think Soundclick changed something in their code, the player in IE is tiny.
Thanks for the demo. Sounded very good.
You know, I owned one of these back in the early 70's when they first came out. Back then we just called them "fuzz boxes". :D
I had the Muff Fuzz which is really the Little Muff. It was just a simple metal box, but it had a 1/4" male jack you plugged right into your guitar. You had to be careful not to break it. It was very edgy and shrill sounding, but we loved it.
Now these are hard to get ahold of and are fairly valuable.
You can just barely see the Muff Fuzz in this old video of Devo.

You can really hear it at the end, still sounds great!
Congrats on the new pedal, I might pick up one myself.

"Green Russian" This thing is by far the best "muff" out there hands down! check it
