'magical' as in i've never heard of it. maybe it'd be an expression pedal... no idea..

what i want is one where i can, while playing guitar, fade in/out any vst effect.. like distortion for example.. untouched the sound would be clean, and while i push the pedal up the distortion would come in.... knowwhatimean?

i imagine something's out there that does this??

sorry if they're everywhere, i'm not a giant gearhead :|

do you mean like a hardware multi-effects unit with an expression pedal, where you choose the effect parameter that the pedal controls, but rather than a multi-effects unit, you want it to happen in software?

Wouldn't this be something to do with the set up of your effects pedals, rather than more so the effect pedal itself?

I saw a course on effects pedals and it seemed pretty elaborate, which made me think this.

Either way, I use a Jim Dunlop Wah-Pedal. I play clean mostly, but the times I have used distortion with it, it comes out great.

I hope this helps!

Take it or leave it, the shadow is always there.

With a glass of ice cold lemonade in the other.
Listening to reggae music.
What more do you want?
