Ok, I just thought this would be a good game for all of us to get involved with. It should help us to recognize certain chords when we listen to music and make it easier to transpose songs.
So not just a game more of an educational tool.
I hope you like the idea, there is no need for fancy riffs or licks, so even absolute beginners can join in so long as they can finger a chord thats all there is to it.
Oh, one thing though, please make sure you tune up first
So here is the first of I hope many followers, same rules apply correct guess puts up the next chord.

Stab in the dark here. Just to pick a name. It sounds like a Bm7 or a Cbm7 depending on what key it's being used? ,,,,,maybe? am I way off. I don't have a guitar here(I'm at work. Shhhhhhhh!).
To me that sounds like a C major, although my ear training is non-existant so I could well be wrong!

Yeah. I was off....sort of. On and off at the same time.
Your both right in a sense it is a C but there is an extension (think deadly sins)

Its the top one, named "Name that chord" 8) http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=647179
Note; Only use the lo-fi version - for some reason the hi-fi option causes the sound to be sped up and raised in pitch!
The lo-fi version works fine.
Happy guessing!

It seems a minor chord. Could be Gm?
Nuno
PS. Rod, great game! :D
It's definitely a minor chord. Listening to the C7 again it sounds like the interval between is a fourth so I'm thinking that Nuno nailed it. I'm trying to do this the hard way.
would I be right if I said that it is C#m
