Is that Suzanne - Leonard Cohen?
:)
Don
Yep!
One chord is fine.
Two you're pushing it.
Three and you're into jazz.
Great song, elpantalla.
Here's a change of pace until jwmartin gets back.
I always wanted to learn this riff, so last night I didn't let the fact I can't play piano stop me.
Keyboard riff not guitar.

I won't let the fact that I have no idea stop me guessing - it sounds like the theme to Special victims Unit
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

No that's not it, but I can hear the similarity. :) This song predates the show by about 3 years.
I'm really lumbering through this, so it's lacking all the hipster quality of the original.
My first upload started at the end of the riff, which may have thrown you off. I just upped a new file that starts at the beginning of the riff/song.

The artist goes by his first name only.
It's the surname of a couple of famous guitarists, Jeff and Joe.
The song's lyrics suggest you need a couple of Thorens and a Shure 58 (or words to that effect) to get things going.

Sorry guys! It's been a heck of a week.
I have a riff recorded and ready to post, I promise!
That's Beck's 2 Turntables and a Microphone or whatever the name of it is. Just googled it, it's "Where It's At"
ETA: you did good with the riff, I didn't need your clues to recognize it.
Thanks and welcome back, jwmartin.
You got it. Riff away...
:)

OK, this is another bass riff. Hope that's ok, I play bass 90% of the time now, so I don't learn many guitar riffs anymore.
Hmmm, sounds very much like a Creedence riff, but a little different than the one in my head ....
Right band. You probably have the right riff, give it a listen and see.
Ah, then is it Who'll Stop the Rain?
Ah, DUH! that's really not what I meant. Got the titles muffed, which I always do.
CCR - Have You Ever Seen the Rain.
