And

Taking Care Of Business, by Lindisfarne in the 1970's, contained the lyrics "even heard it played upon Radio 1" followed by the main Radio 1 jingle.

Beat that.

Surely the Cliff Richard song is "Wired for Sound"?

And from the other end of the spectrum:

NoFX - Radio Song
They Might Be Giants - Hello Radio
Nelly Furtado - On the Radio
Deana Carter - Me and My Radio
Pavement - My Radio

Here's 2 that the British contingent will appreciate:
Caroline - Status Quo
Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond

Radio Caroline was the first pirate radio station in British waters.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

The Clash - This is Radio Clash springs immediately to mind......

Ray Parker jnr - pre Ghostbusters fame - had a big hit over here about 1974 with a song called "Jack and Jill" - the band was actually called Raydio....

And does anyone remember a song called "Life is a rock (but the radio rolled me)" by a band called Reunion? It was basically a list of rock bands/singers they liked - I know it started "BB Bumble and the Stingers, Mott The Hoople, Ray Charles Singers" but I haven't heard it for donkey's years - I may have it on vinyl somewhere up in the attic, I'll have to dig it out....

:D :D :D
