Hi,

i was wondering knew what the names of the modes off of harmonic and melodic minor were. I know that the 5th of the harmonic minor gives you mixolydian b9, b13 and the the 5th of melodic minor gives you mixoldyian b9, and i've heard of scales like superlocrian and lydian b7, but didn't know exactly what they were derived from. If anyone knows them or knows where i could find a list of them or something please let me know. Thanks again.

Wholenote.com has a whole bunch of scales, and you might find what you are looking for there.

E doesn't = MC2, E = Fb

Music "Theory"? "It's not just a theory, it's the way it is!"

i dont think think they are very common, only common one like i mentioned in another thread is the 5th of harmonic minor, Spanish Phrygian / Phrygian Dominant scale.. its a trademark of Yngwie Malmsteen.
