hey m just confused about the strumming pattern. I have an acoustic guitar and m trying the song Hero-Enrique Eglesias. But the thing is that a)m still an amateur and its my second song and b) I don't know anything about the strumming patterns. Hell, I don't even known the pronunciation of some chords like Dsus4 and all that. Even the videos on the net were confusing. Help me please!

Hi and welcome to Guitar Noise.

If you truly want help with "strumming patterns" the first thing you're going to have to do is get the whole idea of "strumming patterns out your head and focus instead on rhythm and counting. All the help you can possibly need is here at Guitar Noise.

Start with these articles:

https://www.guitarnoise.com/lessons/getting-past-up-and-down-part-2/

And then be sure to check out our series of Guitar Noise Podcasts, most of which deal directly with becoming good at strumming:

Hope this helps. Looking forward to seeing you around on the Forums.

Peace

I think strumming patterns is like anything else. Think to much about it and it becomes a task. I always start with a down stroke and build off that. I sing (and I can't sing) the song to myself as I strum slow then once I got it, I've pretty much go it. And though it may sound not 100% to an expert, its music in my ears!
