I'm trying to figure how to tag that riff that starts the song onto the end of the song to close it out. It sounds like after the B7 you go into the E for one run through of alternating bass strums but how do you transition that into the riff as a closer?

Thanks!

I looked at all the Johnny Cash versions back to 1959, but liked this cover best, because you can actually see the fingers.

And the credit goes to this, maybe better? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdlI3y-Iv58&feature=related

I was going to advise that you go back to the E, but I surmise you know that from your question. When you're on the E, you're already in position to do that riff.

I mean the riff you're looking for - I think we're on the same page. I don't mean the extra flourish that this guy adds at the end, though it is not all that bad. Good luck with it. :D
