this has a kinda sombre feel, let me know what you think.

All around this town
people lying down
moanin' an' complainin'
damnin' an' a wailin'
bitter, bitter people
addicted to the needle

Many friends i've lost
some are in heaven
some are in jail
some go
some stay
but they're not who
i knew yesterday

countless faces
changed expressions
pale complexions
tiny traces
ghost like gazes
bitter, bitter people
addicted to the needle

many friends i've lost
some are in heaven
some are in jail
some go
some stay
but theyre not who
i knew yesterday

so much potential
so many chances
yet you listened
to no voices
you could've made it
but you chose to trade it
for the struggle of
a life thats jaded.

And i'll tell it and think it and speak it and breathe it and reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it.- Bob Dylan,a hard rains gonna fall

yeh this has a very sombre "down and out" feel to it. There were a few areas were i though the rythm seemed to trip up a bit especially in what i thought was the chorus

"many friends i've lost
some are in heaven
some are in jail
some go
some stay "

All together i tidy set of lyrics, with a definate down and dirty slow blues riff behind it i feel.

Nice one

" Ah man, that went down like a lead balloon."

some are in heaven
some are in jail
some go

They're not who
I knew yesterday

Maybe it was the way I was reading it, but I have to say I like this original wording. I like the way "who" and "knew" work together. Plus, lots of people change, but they're still basically the same person. This wording really nails that they are now someone you can't even recognize.

Blame it on the lies that killed us, blame it on the truth that ran us down.

I really like this song. I can hear it as a slow and sombre rock song or a good acoustic song. The Lyrics are very well written and I love your diction. Good work
