[LYRIC] Dawn

Wrote this when I was in my 20's in the Air Force. Comments welcome.

DAWN

Dimly in the light of morning
Racing towards the sun
Vapor-wisps of dreams all fade
Your life has just begun

Buildings tall and shadows lonely
Reaching for the sky
And when I see your face I know
You'll never ask me why

Dawn
With your colors burnin' through my mind
Dawn
I never thought I'd see the time
When in the light of stars I'd see your smile

Sunlight comes to life exploding
Lashing ‘cross the land
Crimson clouds of fire burning
Lightning in my hand

Valleys deep with rivers running
Sunlight through the trees
Eagles soaring in their glory
Floating on the breeze

Dawn
With your colors burnin' through my mind
Dawn
I never thought I'd see the time
When in the light of stars I'd see your smile

Sunset bringing darkness down
To levels of despair
Waiting for tomorrow's light
My hopes and dreams are there

And when my eyes are burning
From the searing heat of dawn
I know I'll reach those mountains
Where my soul's already gone
