Howdy Derekslide. I tried to put the song in lines
and here's what it looks like. It needs to be longer
and more tightly structured. Tell us what all she packed
that you had to trip over (books? clothes? hairdryer?)

Packrat Woman

She was a pack rat woman, you all =9
She really was I tell you =7
I've never seen such a woman =8
Who was a pack rat woman =7
She was a queen of the pack rats =8
I tell you all you never seen this woman pack so much stuff away that was useless =21
Oh yeah uselessssssssss. =4+

- instrumental -

Her house was like an obstacle course to walk through =12
Because she was a pack rat woman =9

The numbers are the syllable count of each line.
It makes music easier to write if the syllable/meter
count is more uniform. Here's an example:

She was a pack rat woman =7
She really was I tell you =7
Never seen such a woman =7
Who was a pack rat woman =7
She was queen of the pack rats =7

Of course, there can be any combination of syllable counts,
and there is no law that says you must be that structured,
but a music writer likes it, and it shows that you
are paying attention to the details, ending up with
a better, tighter song.

Howdy again Derekslide.
I should have included that I don't write music.
I only repeated the advice I was given quite some
time back by someone who does write music.
Since the, however, I always write my songs
with a music writer in mind, carefully adjusting
for the syllable/meter count.
Leave your request open for the other forumites here.
I'm sure there are a lot of folks more musically inclined than me.
