Red Wine Bottle (Larry W. Jones 05/05/2008) (song#5416)
You bring relief to my mind every time
Your color is warm and you smell so fine
You're the chief reason why I feel no pain
Red wine bottle, please work your spell again
Red wine bottle, I like the way you feel
Please help me forget she was ever real
Red wine, you're sweet, just like she used to be
Help me not regret that she once loved me
Her sad farewell was on a night of rain
Red wine bottle, please work your spell again
- instrumental -
Red wine bottle, I like the way you feel
Please help me forget she was ever real
Red wine, you're sweet, just like she used to be
Help me not regret that she once loved me
This pain down in my heart, it's nothing new
This feeling in my brain I get from you
You pour so easy, sweet red bottled wine
I'll explore your red label one more time
Where I now dwell sure isn't lover's lane
Red wine bottle, please work your spell again

i really like that! its on a different than usual topic, so its interesting to read!
its short, but i can ehar it being really soft, and each time 'red wine' is said it gets more and more emotion and force behind it
Thanks coleclark.
It's funny how the same song can be seen in different lights.
Here's a critique of this song from a posting on another site:
Hi, your rhyme pattern is too similar throughout the whole lyric
I don't see any new information in the verses, they kinda say the same thing
It'd have to be rewritten in my opinion, but if you choose not to, it could be saved , depends what the music is, good luck
So, I answered back:
I agree that it's kinda short
and the repetition after the instrumental would be
better with a different bridge. I'll study that red label some more!

i think the red wine phrase stops just short of being tedious.
as long as you can impart some emotion into singing it it should be fine, good even.
if its was sung monotone then yes, it might not work
