Just started learning acoustic guitar about a year ago. Self taught with some help from this and a few other internet sites. Seems I had some music in my head that wanted to come out. This is one of five songs I've penned in the past month. I've most of the music worked out and hope to post that in the near future. Meanwhile, would appreciate any comments or constructive criticism. Thanks.

WORDLESS SONG

I Woke up this Morning and You Were Gone
And I Feel like the Words of a Wordless Song
I Just Don't Fit In, Where Ever I Try
And I Ask Myself over and over and over and over Again, Why

Where Do These Words Belong
Wandering Aimlessly Without a Song
You Were the Reason, You Were My Wife
For Twenty Years You Were Everything I Ever Wanted, You Were My Life

What Do the Words Say When the Melody's Gone
After Having Been Together for So Very Long
Is Anything Worth Singing When You're So Alone
How Can You Go on Living When You Have No Home

Can These Words Ever Have Meaning Again
Be Understood and Not Just Playing Pretend
How Can These Words Once Meant Only for You
Be Sung in a Song like the Song I Once Knew

What Do the Words Say When the Melody's Gone
After Having Been Together for So Very Long
Is Anything Worth Singing When You're So Alone
How Can You Go on Living When You Have No Home

I Woke up this Morning and You Were Gone
And I Feel like the Words of a Wordless Song
I Just Don't Fit In, Where Ever I Try
And I Ask Myself over and over and over and over Again, Why

Nice one. The imagery and sentiment is on fairly safe ground, and the only thing that threw me was the length of that last line of most of the verses. I guess if you've got the space and time to fit it all in then it's going to sound ok, but you need to make sure you're not rushing to squeeze the words in anywhere. Any chance we could get something to listen to?

Welcome to Guitarnoise, chefie.

Here's a first take. Cold, poor phrasing, and all other mistakes included. Again, comments appreciated, good or otherwise.

Thanks,
