Hi all ...
This is my latest. I guess it's a response to Al Gore's big day tomorrow though I'm not as optimistic as he is. The song has been rattling around for quite a while but today I finally went to a friends place and recorded it with Apple's Garageband. Great program. Just a demo but I like it. My friend says he'd love to hear a really good band record it. What do you think? Let me know especially from the usual suspects and you know who you are ...:-)))))))))

Lyrics
verse 1
why did mother nature have to die
I heard your children ask
I heard your children cry
so men could drive in circles and poison your skies
I heard myself answer because I knew why
chorus
the tipping point
the tipping point
mother nature being slapped in the face
got fed up with the human race
sent a yuppie version of the berlin wall
crashing down on their churches and malls
the tipping point
the tipping point
verse 2
what were they thinking back in the day
I heard your children ask
I heard your children pray
tell us again what it was like
before the final curtain comes down on our lives
bridge
so I told them my story
I told them my tales
about a beautiful world full of dolphins and whales
how I was their ocean
I was their breath
how I never understood my sentence of death
the tipping point
the tipping point
mother nature being slapped in the face
got fed up with the human race
the human race
the human race
the human race
play it loud

A poignant song here gram99, about the whole "green" issue.
When you say
mother nature being slapped in the face
got fed up with the human race
you have a good point; we really do abuse our environment too much, and it's going to cost us or our children sooner or later.
Putting the song from the POV of the children is a nice direction to go in as well, puts a more "human" face on the problem I think.
Good stuff

yeah its ok, id like to hear it. i thought it was quite restrained, not as pointed as it could have been but then that all depends on what the aim of the song is. how are the repeated bits sung? its good to read a song about something other than love or country or depression (wow yes there is more in teh world to write about!! )
and this is a good cause for a song
did the mp3 not play for you?
let me know.
