Im still trying to get back the old ways of writing so i wrote this song a few minutes ago after an conversation i had with a friend. The song is basiclly about someone having to choose between two things, in this case two lovers, and being scared of making the wrong decision or hurting one of them. The meters off in a lot of places etc...

"The Right Road"

She sits scared on the edge now
As she balances on the threads of her heart
She wonders what path she will walk now
But she just doesnt know where to start
She wonders if its the thrill of the chase
Or is it love like from a fairytale dream
The two of hearts is the only card
That she sees burning whenever she breaths
And she says

I know I should follow my heart
But what if my heart dont know the way
Maybe ill just wait for the right words
That tell me all that I need to say
And show me which road I should take

Her friends they give her their words
But theres nothing that they can do to help
A womans heart is a broken poem
With words that never rhyme to well
And no one knows what they have here
When someones opening their heart up for you
There is no right decision to make
But to make a decision is the only right thing to do
We say

I know I should follow my heart
But what if my heart dont know the way
Maybe ill just wait for the right words
That tell me all that I need to say
And show me which road I should take

I know I should follow my heart
But what if my heart dont know the way
Maybe ill just wait for the right words
That tell me all that I need to say
And show me which road I should take

Hmmm.

I think I would lose the first two lines of the second verse, and develop the idea from the next two lines a bit more to make it four lines. Not sure about the wording though.

Best,

A :-)
