well, I'm back in school, and as I was playing a song I made called "Someone to Live Inside", I started ad-libbing some new words, which fit my current situation, I'm sure a lot of people could relate to this
The Sound
Verse 1
You got your freedom tonight
but you're still screaming inside
it must be those people crying in the daytime
Your ears are beginning to ring
since don't see any meaning
in all the time you've wasted on this hopeless thing called a human being
Chorus
A thousand gods...lined in a row
My heart is dangerous...to the things they love
I only fight..so I can live on
but very often, I can't hear the sound
Verse 2
Now your ears begin to pound
grey haze is circlin round
and you just may find your way if you follow that horrible ringing sound
That sound is within your grasp
if you could only see it you could ask
Why do I feel insane every time the bell rings every day
Chorus
A thousand gods...lined in a row
My heart is dangerous...to the things they love
I only fight..so I can live on
but very often, I can't hear the sound
Verse 3
But maybe it takes all our time
to find that sound inside
which guides us through all our lives unless we lose our minds
So I'll endure
and accept I'm nowhere near
to even perceiving who I am, or what we are
ahhhhhhhhhh, I feel better
I don't follow my dreams, I just ask em' where they're going and catch up with them later.

Did you see that!
hey snoog, awesome stuff man ! needs a lil work to make it look more song like, u know what i mean. as of now, great draft! chorus is simply awesome.
Nice - looks like you're putting a lot of work into your music lately, believe me it's paying off - there's a maturity here you wouldn't expect from some one still at school.......
I'd like to know how you hear this in your head.......
Vic.
:D :D :D
"Sometimes the beauty of music can help us all find strength to deal with all the curves life can throw us." (D. Hodge.)
line them up with theyre back against the wall
put a gun to theyre head and shoot them all
thats how the world works today......
old people goin to the shops
get raped, get hit what is goin on?
thats how the world works today......
why cant anybody live in peace
no matter what your colour,or beliefs
thats how the world is today.......
(chorus)
what is the problem?...
can somebody sort this?
everyones changing..old times is what i miss...
"people laugh at me because im different...i pity you..because your all the same"
was that a mispost? or are you suggesting lines?
Vic-They don't come from my head, they come from my mouth, I always write music, and then ad'lib my lyrics while I play it.
alterego-this is th eproblem with written lyrics, especially for me, I am never stisfied to write music with simple 4/4 time, every other measure chord changes etc. this song is very rhthmic with the words, I've been borrowing a lot of vocal rhythm techniques from the band Modest Mouse, and all my lyrics look a little stranger on paper than when sung
I don't follow my dreams, I just ask em' where they're going and catch up with them later.

I really, really like the chorus. The whole song is really good.
I love the line: My heart is dangerous...to the things they love
Awesome job.
Haha another (almost?) faultless rhyme from snoogans, you never fail to impress mate. As others have said, the chorus is simply killer...
The end of the verses confuse me abit though.
Apart from that the lyrics are top notch,
I think i know what the message between the lines is, but its not hugely obvious, which is another good attribute to this song
good stuff
" Ah man, that went down like a lead balloon."
alright, i feel like I should at least say something to clarify the verse structure.
it's nothing special, it's just the way I wrote it down
the last line is the equivalent of the first two, so, another way to write it would be
you got your freedom tonight
but you're still screaming inside
it must be those people
crying in the daytime
but the last two aren't two different thoughts, they're one long one
that's my best shot, I wish I had a microphone.
I don't follow my dreams, I just ask em' where they're going and catch up with them later.
