waiting for the weekend

its a cold march morning
wind is cutting at my face
everyone who passes me
is lost in a rat race
first person that i meet
she looks me up and down
i see her look again
as we're on the bus to town
i try to listen to the silence
but i dont get a chance
theres a female at the back
talking bout romance
my feet hit the pavement and
another day of grind
working nine till five as i
slowly lose my mind

im just waiting for the weekend
it never passes me by
waiting for the weekend
it always gets me high
set aside my troubles
drink,smoke and laugh
i can wear my dancing shoes
tango across yor path

its monday morning and
i'm back at work
no-one wants to be here
everybodys at the shirk
i'm waiting for the whistle
so i can have a smoke
i'm waiting for a whistle
its nothing but a joke
so by the friday i'm just
smokin anywhere
i'm not waiting for no whistle
i just dont care
my boss he calls me over
and he fires me on the spot
i just laugh out loud
'cos theres one thing he forgot

im just waiting for the weekend
it never passes me by
waiting for the weekend
it always gets me high
set aside my troubles
drink,smoke and laugh
you can wear your dancing shoes
tango across my path

so by the monday
i dont have a job
sitting round the house
listening to bob
i get a visitor
much to my delight
she brings me pizza
and she keeps me up all night
she lifts my spirits
if only for a while
she has a tendancy
just to make me smile
and while were rolling through
i hear tambourines
untill its friday
and you know what it means

im just waiting for the weekend
it never passes me by
waiting for the weekend
it always gets me high
forget about your nine to five
its just what you gotta do
join me on the weekend
i know it would suit you

And i'll tell it and think it and speak it and breathe it and reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it.- Bob Dylan,a hard rains gonna fall
