Yeah Someday

She reads a lot of self help novels
Tryin' to see how the happy people live
Chicken Soup For The Broken Hearted
She lives alone with her shadows
Making conversation with her laundry
As it grows in the corner unattended
And she wonders what the weather is like outside
And she dreams about the laughter in the café
And she hopes that someday...
Yeah someday…
She walks in the rain with her sunglasses
And always crosses with the light
Run no risks, take no chances
Avoiding cracks in the sidewalk
She remembers hopscotch as a child
When happiness was all that mattered
And she wonders what the weather is like inside
As she walks past the laughter from the café
And she hopes that someday...
Yeah someday…
Tuesday morning tea all alone
Toast and honey and yesterday's news
Never reads the comic section
Talks to the laundry growing older
And the dishes in the sink
Maybe tomorrow, maybe never
And she wonders what the weather is like outside
And she dreams about the laughter in the café
And she hopes that someday...
Yeah someday…
Yeah someday
The sun might shine in her window
Yeah someday
The clouds might just roll away
Yeah someday
She might join in the laughter
Yeah someday...
Yeah someday...
Yeah,
Someday ...

Hi, Maxwell,
I like this a lot - especially where the chorus leaves the desire unspoken. Nicely done.
Best,
