The amp sounds week and spongy. One or few mods have been done where a 12ax7 tube has been removed (third slot when looking from the back). what mod might this be? Can i stiffin up the tone by replacing the transformer? Im wanting a real clean focused sound, however i know the bassman is generally a bit crunchy.
