I am getting seriously frustrated at my left hand!!

I'm trying to do glisses over chords that don't exist on the guitar by getting the "extra" notes in as part of a gliss .. basically sweep pick down the strings until you get to a point where you need an extra note, finger the extra note and re-pick that string then continue down to the next point where you have to finger in an extra note.

It's reasonably doable for 7 note chords, but 8 and 9 note chords I always end up with the timing being off . . .

Anyone else have trouble with this technique? Are there any tricks to it or is it just practice practice practice?
