As a guitar "modder" I found them interesting... but I kept coming back to the fact that it is easier to make a "Sega" guitar look cool and actually work - people will say, "wow, he's talented" even though the craftmanship is subpar. How about taking a hunk of wood and making it actually look like a real guitar - that takes talent (and patience).
Did the NES guitar work as a gaming system as well? Now if those systems worked BOTH as a guitar and a game system, well now you're onto something...

Matt Bellamy of Muse has a load of pretentious gubbins shoved into a lot of his guitars. but some of it is cool and works well into the sounds he makes.
Generally he doesn't make that much use of them though.
I do have a Kaoss Pad II though. :D :twisted:
