Okay, this may not help much, but I had 200. dollars to look for an amp. I went to Guitar Center in Atlanta. Spent all day playing through amps (mainly acoustic) and had just about decided to finance the balance on a Line 6 Spider when I saw a discontinued Crate MX65R sitting in the clearance bin. It sounded as good as any I played with my equipment. I passed up a lot of amps and got this one for 150.00 with a trade in guarentee if I didn't like it. I still have it and like it very much.

You can ride a Yamaha, or play a Yamaha, it is up to you.
Hi guys.
I have a Roland Cube 15 practice amp that sells for about $99 and has great effects and IS LOUD. Also, very easy to move around. They also make a Cube 30 that goes for less than $200. Excellent amp, and very highly rated by guitar magazines.
Anotrher option - if you are willing to dish out a little more cash is the Fender G-Dec. AMAZING effects in a practice amp-sized housing. I think they sell for $259. Well worth the money. Check it out:
