Alright...
I've been looking for 3 months now..
Not one guitar I can find fits the description I want.
Well...except for the PRS Swamp Ash Special..but uhh ($1,799.00) is too much for me.
Ok, here's what I want.
Maple fretboard and neck.
Floyd Rose bridge and tremolo system (or something similar)
I want it black, realllly shiney.
I don't want..
Gibson or Fender. (no offense to any of you)
I want there to be a 2 humbuckers in it, if not that then 1 humbucker and 2 single coils, or, 2 humbuckers, 1 single coil.
I don't want ALL single coil.
I prefer a guitar WITHOUT a pickguard (who needs em?) just kidding. but seriously..no pick gaurd. (pick gaurds in my opinion are a total unattractive attribute)
hmm...and I don't want it to look old timey or anything, I want it to look good and new aged.
Here's a picture of the Swamp Ash Special, which is like...EXACTLY what I want. but I don't want the price

Someone help me out please : ) :) :)
Thanks

Ohhhh man...you have no idea.. I do almost everyday. I mean..sure I have restrictions such as the local music stores here don't carry every kind of guitar I'd like to try.
for example.
All Star music has: Fender and Peavey.
Back Beat Music has: Gibson, PRS, Fender...blah blah..
I try guitars.
And it doesn't have to do with what I've tried, It's what I'm LOOOOOOKING for.

Call me crazy but that PRS looks like a SCHECTER. Take a look at them. If your shops dont carry other brands take a road trip!

Heres a thought...
Ibanez has a very similiar body type with your pickup config, Im not sure about the tremelo or bridge, but Im sure they have something. Now, the maple neck would be the hard one to come by, as most of ibanez's models are rosewood.. Why not pickup the body you like (most are bolt on necks anyway) and find a maple neck at a guitar parts house and "re-assemble Stephanie"

Check out these two
The S series around $400

or the
Gsa Series around $275

Or AS suggested before A Nice Shiny Scheter $299

I second Fiberoptik. If you go that route, you can have your own custom axe that kicks butt and looks just likje you want it. If you buy a new neck and are handy with woodworking, you can even make your own headstock.

Ibanez has a truckload of black superstrats with floyds and maple neck. Check out the RG prestige series, should cost around $600+. The normal RG series start at 200 or so. My Ibanez RG550 (the current version of it is in the Prestige series) costed me $199 used. Maple, floyd, rock solid, HSH pups. Give them a try.

Hmmm...I like those...
I'll looked into those, thanks guys :)
Yah, I do want to customize my own.
My building grounds though, is as I described.
Maple Neck
24-frets
Black (shiney!)
Floyd Rose
H/S/H or H/H or H/S/S

The pickups can be stock for all I care, cause I KNOW I'll be changing them out to Dimarzio or EMG.

But yep...Thanks again! time to look at me some guitars!

Later

well you should check out the Godins. I have the Exit 22 that is also available with a maple fretboard. Mine has the rosewood. It has 1 hum and 2 single pu's. No pick guard. Made of solid mahogany and looks awesome. Paid $450 CAD.
checkit out!

It's not black, nor has a tremelo. But it is an awesome guitar. Check out the reviews.

MCH: Welcome to GN! That Godin is a great guitar for it's money, although not quite what Marshall is after. Great choice though.

Anyone looking for a 24 fret maple neck, black, HSH, floyd-equiped guitar?

RG370DX (around $350 or so)

The Schecters would be a great choice for you, but I don't think you'll find one with a floyd rose thinger.
The Godin's are great, and while you could find one, like the Freeway series, that has what you're looking for, I think they only come in flamed maple, not shiney black.
Arjen's the one you want to listen to, I think.

Not THAT ugly... are they? I thought they were fairly sharp lookin'

They tend to sound nice too...

Incidentally, how important is the maple fretboard to you? Are you after the feel or sound, or is it just the look?

Do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life...
