The Damn MPA (music publishers assoc.) is going after tab sites as I am sure most of you are aware. I was just wondering if any other good sites are still up and running? I used Powertab Archive exclusively so I am in the dark.
Please advise.
I almost always use http://www.olga.net/ and they are still up.

Thanks much. That will work great. Not quite as nice as powertabs but "still working" in itself makes it better.
I just hope the MPA backs off it intellectual property podium on the TAB issue. I understand the artist's need to be profitable but to attack tabs is misguided in every sense of the word.
It's interesting that OLGA was the first site shut down back in 1998 by the MPA (Harry Fox Agency to be specific.) But somehow they reopened - my guess is they moved "offshore." Will be interesting to see if they are shut down again.
If you have GuitarPro, mysongbook is still functioning. It's the most similar to Powertabs.

As I recall, OLGA originally had lyrics, and when they re-opened they didn't. Lyrics are clearly protected property.

Interesting ... that makes sense. But then, Powertabs rarely have the lyrics.

Yep!!
Guitaretab and Ultimate-guitar are both great. Another good one is http://www.bandtabs.com , and in a pinch you can use tabcrawler, but I dont really like it.
I pity the fool, but also suggest ways he might better himself.
You know what is confusing to me? If the lyrics are off limits then why do some artists post them on their webpages? Am I missing something?
Also, I have noticed that on OLGA the tab will be listed but not the full lyrics. Would you suppose the full lyrics aren't listed because of the past action?
Treat others how you would like to be treated.
Wow that was weird, I was posting on another forum and some how it put the post here////hears twilight theme songs////
The problem here is alot of tabs are direct copies out of commercial tab books. So this is copyright infringement. But it is perfectly legal to transcribe music as long as you dont profit from it.
