I had a really good practice last night.

I have been trying to learn Keith Urbans "You'll Think of Me" for quite a while. It is mostly a finger pickin kind of song but until last night I have been just strumming the chords.

Between the time I started trying this song and last night, I have also been trying to learn "Silent Night" and "In the Bleak Midwinter" with the lessons provided here at GN. They teach alot of finger pickin in those. Atleast that is the way I am playing them, or trying.

Anyway, last night I was finally not only able to finger pick "You'll think of me" but I was able to keep the little bass accompaniment line going at the same time. I was so proud. Its not perfect but it sounded pretty dang good and I had a blast playing it.

Thanks for letting me praise myself, returning to humblness

Way to go, geoo!

Hre's a version of "Silent Night" I recorded last year in Open E on electric with a slide, if you're interested. Pretty simple. I like 'em that way!

Congratulations. I know that is a wonderful feeling when things come together and nothing wrong with shouting it out loud :!: .

Neat take on Silent Night Ricochet :D Very bluesy. Dont know whether to be happy about all the presents or sad for all the money I spend. heh I wanna learn slide someday.

I printed it it out with a copy of the music and later today I am going to write notes in each measure so that I can follow along. I am certain its going to help but I haent used them yet.

Thanks again

Cool - not sure when I'll have time to add the fingerings to the music...and I forgot to add, good job! I know what a great feeling it is to make a breakthough in your playing. So praise yourself when it happens - you deserve it!

Be careful Geoo, you keep playing that finger pickin stuff and you will end up like me with dust collecting on your picks.
Congratulations on your breakthrough :D
