I was looking through the posts and found the post called "yay!!!!!!!!!" posted by xSkaStyleex
and he had this video of a guy named Bob Zabek playing a song called "The Dead Man's Etude" and I saw in his gear list that he uses a Boss GT-6 and was wandering if they're any good.. I've been buying Boss pedals in the past month like crazy and seen this little effects board and I'm thinking on buying it. BUT I don't want to buy it if it isnt GOOOOD. Cause I've spent $388.00 on pedals already and didn't want to dish out another $300.00 if it wasn't really worth it. so..anyone here have any on hands experience with it?

Thanks

Marshall

Yes, it is good. You could even try using the distortions as boosters for your peavey, and the other effects are all very nice, with plenty of paramaters. There are some limitations (can't use multiple effects from certain groups), and it can be very overwhelming, but it is a good unit. Within a few months the GT8 will be released though, so you might want to wait for that.

Cool!
GT-8 huh? do you have a link so I can get a look at it?
The main reason I wanted to know if it was any good or not is because I own an Effects Processor called
Tone Works Korg AX1500G which I thought was AMAZING when I first got it...But now..it's just sucks..
It's sitting in a corner of my room..collecting dust. It's has virtually no versitility..
but..anyway..I was just wandering :)
Thanks

The GT6 is a great board. But you have to play with it. The presets are
only examples of what it can do. From what I have read in the Yahoo
GT6 form about the GT8 it is not alot different. One thing that looks nice
is that they appear to have pulled the compressor out of FX1 block. It
also looks like they might have the ablity to have two amp channels
and to switch between them quickly. The GT6 is basicly a preamp simulator
a overdrive/distorsion, delay, chorus, reverb, eq and 2 effects (one each
from FX1 and FX2) at the same time. It allows you to change almost all
the parameters on each with very high granularity. You can also change
the order of the effects for each patch. If you can get one for $300 I would
say go for it!
