Hi ive been trying to play the song Good riddance (time of your life) by greenday. i am getting better at it but keep seeing about 10-20 diff versions of the C9 chord for it,
There is good tab for this on:

http://www.heartwoodguitar.com/chords.htm

And, you can here the strumming pattern here:

http://www.grouptherapy.guernsey.net/strumming.html

I THINK the guy that does the grouptherapy website is on the these forums?? Not sure....

Anyway, it should be the Cadd9 chord. not C9.

330230 - Cadd9

Actually, 330230 is C 6/9 (CEGAD)

Yes, in order from low to high: GCDADE.

But I have the sneaky suspicion that the intended fingering was the usual way to finger a Cadd9 (add the pinkie to B-string 3rd fret to the normal C major fingering):

x32030 (xCEGDE) or 332030 (GCEGDE)
