That is from an old instructional video made back in the 80's. My brother-in-law owns it and used to show it to me. The guy is pretty unbelieveable. He is one of the fastest pickers around. He also shows other techniques like sweep picking. My brother-in-law even got a special pick with this video. It is round and pointed. Pretty wierd pick.

But I'll tell ya, my brother-in-law got really good from that video. He can pick super fast, do amazing runs, and sweep picking from studying that. It really improved his playing.

As for the hair, that was the 80's. 8)

At some point you've got to just stand back and say: "Hmm, I can play a double necked guitar, either neck with either hand upside down all at the same time. I think I need to get out more".

Seriously though, there's obsession, and then there's this... jeez.

Do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life...

It says he invented the double guitar, but I recall Steve Vai using one in one of David Lee Roth's video's back in the 80's. Maybe Steve just bought one of his.

Seriously though, can you imagine what kind of music this guy could've blessed us with if he'd spent the time he used on learning this trick on writing songs and melodies instead?

on the othe hand the world needs extremes. maybe not obvously or directly, but in a sublte and indirect way...

but I think it's a valid point to say that he propably could have come up with lot of fine music...

Although i'm not a fan of his music, nor Steve Vai, or any of the other 80's metal virtuoso players... I am still unbelievably jealous of their playing abilities and wish I could play like that.

I feel the same way. I admire the talent, but not neccicarily the songwriting. I would rather listen to 3 chord Beatles songs or bitchin' riffs from Pagey. :o

Michael Angelo is a great player, but he's also a class A Showoff.
And if you want to play like that, then do what every fast guitarist do.
practice that chromatic scale (1-2-3-4) using hammerons and pulloffs for like 30 minutes to an hour everyday.
It sounds stupid. but, god strike me dead if it doesn't work.
