I would expect that non-ferrous metals (aluminum, brass, copper, etc) shouldn't affect the magnetic field of the pickups.
But steel, or something like that might cause some effect . I'm not sure *what* that effect would be, but it might do something.

That is awesome...I love how the knobs and the selector switch totally blend in with the clockwork. Brilliant!
