Hi Guys,

I want to create a simple songbook for one of my friends. The format I want is melody + lyrics and chord diagrams:

[Diagram]
Melody
Lyrics

What are the best programs to use? Any free ones?

Thanks,

John Dylan

Powertab can put chord boxes at the top of the first page of each tune - it's been around for ages and gives you the dual notation/ tab format.

Musescore is free too - notation only but I've never tried to use it for chords.

I like Powertab but I specifically don't want any tab in these lead sheets - only standard notation.

I'll check out the other program.
