I've been playing Bare while I learn A Whole New World, and this is three weeks in since I bought the book. Loving my progress so far. Lots of problems I can pick on, but ignoring the odd slight pause that never happen the same place, and some duff phrasing which doesnt happen everytime, at least I know where I can improve :)

I really enjoyed learning A Whole New World, and after that I sight read most of Beauty and the Beast! You've Got a Friend will be tougher. I've added a bit of Pirates of the Caribbean to my practice schedule, as its quite complex so I'm bound to have something to gain by it. :D :note2:

Sorry about the audio, just grabbed a USB mic and sat very near the guitar while trying to play loud lol.

I honestly don't have anything constructive - as you are way above my skill level - those were fantastic. Really.

At your skill level, can I suggest some of JAW's stuff? Give "Here comes the Sun" a shot first.

Also, I would love it if you would record (*if it is playable) my arrangement of Redemption Song - any opinions and recommendations greatly appreciated - http://forums.guitarnoise.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=48925

Thanks for the great comments. I don't feel I'm above much of anyone in skill, but I do know that if you stick to a song then you'll get it eventually. I've a couple of JAWs tabs, but I've not worked my way through anything of note yet.

The Pirates theme is my new goal and its damn difficult at the moment, but not impossible, so thats good ;)

I know this is probably blasphemy, but I'm not too familiar with Redemption Song by name. If I know it I might give it a shot, but I like to see the notation too so I can work on the timing. If it sounds like a good arrangement then I might have a go. Have you any examples of it being played?

Heres where I'm at so far with "He's a Pirate".
I changed to the dreadnought and its a struggle playing after 6 months of the baby taylor lol. The intonation is a mile better though. I usually play this about 25% faster, but as the guitar felt strange and its still a Work-In-Progress I thought I'd get a recording out to mark my progress.

Funnily, this is still Disney!

I really like this tune....did you do this by ear, or do you have any tab for it?

In Space, no one can hear me sing!

I found the tab from the author of the arrangement online, but its over-compicated from what is actuall played. It'll be something like 006500 instead of 000220 in a lot of places. I've manually altered his tab, which is strange I guess because now its 'my arrangement' lol. See Sunga Jung playing it to see hows its meant to be played :)

I've been busying myself with other songs as this one is difficult and will take a lot of practice. Since I last posted here I've learnt Alone by Heart (first non-Disney), You've got a Friend in me (only a week into this song, but I'm only missing a little), and I'm now onto Under the Sea from the little Mermaid. Every song I learn something, which is why I'm devouring these fingerstyle books.

I'll post some updated versions before long. Hows your playing going?
