I was over at a friends house who was playing the drums along with my guitar playing. I found that this was WAAAAY better than sitting and playing alone in my room. But my problem is I can't get over to his place all the time due to his ridiculous work hours. So does anyone know a place or an item I could buy that would give me some drum loops to help me with my playing?
You can find drum loops on the net. And products like the Digitech RP series or the Zoom effects processors have variable drum loops - the entry level models of both of these are reasonably priced and can often be found on ebay.
E-jay.com. A bit techno at times but free downloads. I have the full set of E-jay sound samples, some 25,000 across all styles from reggae to hip-hop, house, grunge, and pop. Excellent stuff.
Alternatively - Computer Music Magazine - a dvd full of samples and software every month.

E-jay.com
That seems to be a swimwear site unless I'm missing a link on the page.

If you're a Mac user then GarageBand (ships free with every Mac) has a lot of built in loops and there a lot of free ones for it available for download around the net. You can then change the tempo, edit them, combine them with other instruments (e.g. bass), etc. Very useful. If I had a MIDI pedal then I could control GarageBand while I'm playing. Since I don't I copy some of the loops over to my JamMan pedal.
