I am looking at getting an electronic tuner for my acoustic. Hope to do it for under $50 (approx $40 US).

Any suggestions on one you are happy with? Any features etc I should be on the lookout for?

Thanks.

I've seen the clip-on kind.

People I've quizzed like them.

Make sure it's chromatic. "Guitar" tuners are very limited.

Are those the ones where the individual little metal leaf vibrates when you have each string tuned correctly?

I use a Korg GA-30. It works just fine.

I have the CA-30 model which is a chromatic tuner. It has an input for electric guitar as well as a mic for other instruments.

Goes for around $20 USD.

I hadn't seen it up close and was justing asking the guy using it what he thought. It was on an accoustic TAKAMINE.

I use one for electric so I have no personal experience with the clip-on kind. If they are as reliable and accurate as the kind I use, they might be alright. Sure saves you having to unplug something to plug in the tuner to tune your guitar.

I'm spoiled as well as I have a built in tuner on my V-amp2. Just gotta remember to take it out of tuner mode before playing?

Just got this tuner.
Great for noisy environments, back lighting makes it great
for dark or low light situations.
Works like a charm!
They are on sale!

Works better than my $50 Q12E.

I've got one of those clip ons for my acoustic. They work pretty darn good. But for my electrics I use a Boss TU-2 (not cheap $100.00) chromatic/strobe tuner.

Well, I really like the TU-12, it's got an analog needle (that's what you want in a good tuner)

But I'm not sure how much they go for - I do know they are not a "cheap" tuner.
