I didn't get a good look at it last night, our seats were only average, but it looked like Fru was playing a black Les Paul for one of his songs. I know he'll use a Gretsch White Falcon now and then, and he's got a '62 Strat (of which I dream everynight), a '62 Jaguar, a '63 tele...etc. But has anyone heard of this black LP guitar? It had four knobs on the bottom-left and the selector switch in the upper-right.

Yeah, I saw him play it live as well (on the song "Readymade", right?), I was kind of shocked as well, it seems like it is a Les Paul.

Well, I just ran it through Wikipedia and found a few more images of Black Beauties, and I think it was definitely a '57 LP BB.

did it have 2 or 3 pickups ? if it had 3, its a black beauty, 2, its a custom 8)

He also played it for a couple of songs in Stockholm last year. I think he used for it "Readymade" and "Fortune Faded". I was a bit surprised when I saw it, so I looked it up on the RHCP:s forum, and found out it was a black beauty. I was up front so I got a good look of it and it really is a beutiful guitar.
