Yeah, what a novel idea. Bish has stolen any thunder I might have created with his LP. I am getting a bargain guitar. My guitar isn't even made of "Real Wood". I'm gonna tell about it anyhow and come christmas morning there will be pics and sound bites. Promise! Here is the pic from the web site.
Some of you might know I have a blue Wild I. I can not tell you how amazed I am at these "non wood" guitars. The sound and playability is awsome. This is the Wild IV Signature model. Musicians friend had it on clearance and they are all gone. I am glad I asked Santa for one.

Nice! I like the contouring especially.
Aw TR, there's enough thunder around here for everyone. :D
That guitar is very cool and looks like a Parker.

oooh, Vibracell ! what the heck is that ?

That's a Cool looking AXE TR :)
Enjoy it bud !!

TR, I hope you're not saying you won't have wood anymore.
That is a nice looking guitar!

Congrats on the new guitar, looks very sharp to me. And if you like the tone and playability, that's all that matters. :D
There are good non-wood guitars. I have a Danelectro guitar made from a plywood frame covered with masonite, it has great tone. SRV and Jimmy Page played these guitars at times.
Have fun!
If you know something better than Rock and Roll, I'd like to hear it - Jerry Lee Lewis
Well, the really low end blue one I have feels like a wooden guitar, weights and plays like one, but most important it does sound like one. The pots are good quality, smooth and silent. The one I have is a single pickup so I'll see what kind of toggle switch the new one has. The tuners are Grovers. The bridge is sound as well. There is no neck joint, it's all one piece. It has a truss rod but I don't expect to use it much. The one I already have has a rosewood board and I still rarely need to adjust it. The new one has a synthetic board as well so I expect this thing to be impervious to humidity.

I saw these in the MF clearance a while ago. My impression was similar to Dagwood's. I guess we read so much marketing hype these days that we become jaded.
It is interesting. Modern day technology providing top notch results for less price. Gotta like it.
I can't wait to hear some sound bytes come Christmas morning, TR.

Congrats TR.
Have fun with it come Christmas morning! 8)

TR - I'm glad you are getting a new guitar since I know you only had a cigar box strung with cat gut to play with before...

Hey, there's nothing wrong with CBGs. I've got a bunch of friends with them. (The king of the CBG, Boz, died this year, alas!) This morning's local paper carried an article from the AP about CBGs, LoweBows in particular: http://news.yahoo.com/s/cpress/20071219/ca_pr_on_en/music_cigar_box_guitar_2 (Quickest link I found to it.)
