Help with a rhythm pattern

This is from Rush's "Working Man". I just can't seem to get this down. I've tried it both alternate and down only. Down only seems some what smooth but doubtful that's the way its supposed to be played. The pattern repeats over and over.

I think this piece would be more easily played with all downstrums. At 80 bpm it's slow enough that really shouldn't need upstrums. Feel free to strum all three top strings for the parts that only have the open E, just so long as you're lifting your fingers off of the A and D strings just enough to mute them. (0xx---)

I'm not really familiar with the song, but I hope that helps. :D

I've never heard the song but you should be able to tell from the recording how he's playing it, if he's using all downstrokes that has a very distinctive sound which is different than regular up and down strumming.

I don't think he plays that riff live. I don't need it to play the song but for some reason those type of patterns kick my butt.

reading the tab, it seems a classic metal riff. It is played in a quaver feel with downstrums only, probably with palm muting. It is tricky because you must play the accents on both the beat and offbeat. To learn it, start palying downstrokes only with palm muting, then try to incorporate some accent on the off-beat (to play the accent play a regular unmuted downstroke)

remember that if you count 1, and, 2, and etc the accents are played on
