As I wrote about a week ago, I was seriously considering buying an Epiphone Casino. I have been looking at these guitars for a long time. About 30 years ago I owned a semi-hollow, and I think it was a Casino. I was so new to playing I really didn't know guitars very well in those days. It was a great guitar that I loved the tone and feel. I gave that guitar to my brother-in-law just to encourage him to take up guitar. Haven't seen him in years, but I believe he still owns it and can play pretty well.
Anyway, I finally took the plunge and got one on EBay today. The seller lives less than 25 miles from me. I contacted him through email and spoke to him before the sell. He is a young fellow who bought this on payments, which he is having a hard time making, that is his only real reason for selling, he says he wished he could keep it.
I saved almost $150, enough to buy a nice case which I will pick up.
Here is the actual guitar, I am going to pick it up tomorrow.

I don't usually like to purchase a guitar without playing it, but this guitar is in new condition and I know I can set it up and get good sounds out of it.
If you know something better than Rock and Roll, I'd like to hear it - Jerry Lee Lewis
that's beautiful Wes. I'm gasing for one of those myself...and a Tele. and a melody maker...
good pickup, sir
Looks very nice! I love the sound that a set neck guitar produces. :D
Nice find Wes, good luck with it.
I ended up buying a $98 Johnson acoustic to strum around on, it sounds too nice for such a price. May we all be able to say the same of our GAS acquisitions! :)
It's a dry heat!

Ewan McGregor: I said, "Eve, I want you to look after my wedding ring while I'm away," and she started to cry and I said, "Eve. Eve, I can't wear my ring or I won't get laid on the trip!"
Beautiful guitar, Wes! :D I'm really jealous!

"Don't wanna ride no shootin' star. Just wanna play on the rhythm guitar." Emmylou Harris, "Rhythm Guitar" from "The Ballad of Sally Rose"
Congrats! Can't wait to hear some clips.

"I wonder if a composer ever intentionally composed a piece that was physically impossible to play and stuck it away to be found years later after his death, knowing it would forever drive perfectionist musicians crazy." - George Carlin
Good job Wes. It doesn't look like it's even been touched let alone played by the owner. Let us know how it works out for you.

That's a seriously beautiful guitar. I can see why the owner was reluctant to sell.
Nice looking guitar Wes, congrats!

"The only way I know that guarantees no mistakes is not to play and that's simply not an option". David Hodge
Very sweet guitar, Wes! I was looking at these at GC, but at $600. The salesman said he would take 10% off that price, but I balked on it. I thought that was a pretty good deal, but not now. Maybe I need to watch eBay more closely.

WTG, Wes. Very nice!!

"I play live as playing dead is harder than it sounds!"
Very same Casino I have. Very nice guitars.
I have done a few things, new nut, switch and Gutoh locking tuners, none of which affect the playability or sound, just things I wanted.
Oh man, a hollow body with p90's is on my very short list of guitars I want; I love the size and the look and the tone. So jealous.
Nice one, Wes. I've owned an Epi Casino for years and it's treated me well.
After seeing "Shine a Light" a couple weeks ago, I turned mine to Open G and I might even take off the low E string!
