On the back of my amp there is a 1/4 slot that says input, in the booklet it says that its for like an effects loop or something, but didn't explain it or anything. So i was hopeing someone could clarify what this input does? thanx for any help

Many amps have an effects loop that lets you put effects between the preamp and the power amp. You would attach a cable to the effects loop out, run it through any effects (pedals or rack mounted) you have, then run a cable back in the input jack. That would let you tweak the sound with the knobs on the front of the amp before applying effects. It can also be handy if you have a poor-man's recording studio set up and want to go direct into your recording equipment without going through a speaker.

would u have to use like a y cable or something because there is only one insert
